From Artist to Advocate: The Origin of My Life Crafting Journey
As the owner and founder of Slow Living Solutions—and your soon-to-be mentor—I’m often asked how I ended up guiding others on their intentional living journey. The truth? My path to life crafting started in the art studio, surrounded by people who warned me that “following your passion” was a recipe for instability. (Spoiler: they were wrong.)
Lesson 1: Reflection and Intention Are Game Changers
Art school taught me to ask “why” behind every choice—color, composition, message. That habit of reflection and intention became my superpower, both in art and in life. Even as I climbed the corporate ladder, I couldn’t ignore the gap between my values and the systems I was part of. I was chasing validation, not alignment.
Lesson 2: You Reap What You Sow—But At What Cost?
Every time I pursued something with intention, I achieved it—artist residencies, leadership roles, six-figure salaries. But success felt empty when it didn’t match my values. I wanted collaboration, meaning, and people-first leadership. Instead, I found myself in systems that prized profit over people.
Then life delivered a wake-up call: my father’s terminal diagnosis.
Lesson 3: The Wake-Up Call That Changed Everything
Watching my father wrestle with unfulfilled dreams forced me to ask: Am I spending my life on what truly matters? The answer was no. I was pouring my energy into things that left me misaligned and undervalued. I had to face the hardest questions: What do I actually enjoy? What brings me joy? What does “good” look like for me?
Once you see the cracks, you can’t unsee them. I realized it was time for a change.
Lesson 4: Designing My Life with Intention
The question that changed my life: What would my dream life look like if anything were possible?
I reverse-engineered my future. In a matter of weeks, I moved to a new place, quit my job, started my company, and built a life that finally reflected my values. I became the CEO I always wanted to be—leading with meaning, building a team that shares my vision, and reclaiming my time for what matters.
